Environmental Emergency Management Conference

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is hosting the Environmental Emergency Management Conference, June 29-30, in Lansing, Michigan.


The focus of this conference is on environmental emergency preparedness and mitigation, response, and recovery related to incidents impacting the environment and public health. Participants include federal, state, and local emergency response personnel, public health officials, facility emergency managers, contractors, consultants, academia, or anyone within the emergency response community.

 

Topic Areas Include:

  • Preparedness and Mitigation – emergency response planning, planning tools, planning development, building resilient communities, process, framework, mitigation, etc. 

 

  • Response – actual response to an incident including strategy, Incident Command System, training, tools, roles, resources, best management practices, etc. 
  • Recovery – recovery to a normal condition after an environmental incident, which could include responsibilities, coordination, regulation, procedures, etc.
